I am passionate about helping others improve their health. Health has been an interest of mine for years – ever since I realized that not everyone had learned good eating habits growing up, things I had learned from my mother.
My mother instilled in me a passion for nutrition. Growing up, she fed us very nutritious food – nothing fried, very few sweets, no white bread or chips, tons of vegetables, and weird things like carob brownies. Now, I am driven to teach people what we learned as kids. Just like learning a language, some things are harder for adults than for children, but if there is true curiosity and interest, learning about nutrition is simple – as long as you have a teacher, mentor, and coach! There is so much more that goes into what/how/when we eat than simply being hungry!

Go Slim U!, Inc. was founded in 2013. I am trained as a Health Coach, which involves coaching people about: the basics of nutrition, attitudes about food, how and when to eat, how to think in a healthy way, and how to integrate healthy habits into their lives. I have studied health coaching at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and also through The MacDonald Center for Obesity Prevention and Education (C.O.P.E) at Villanova University College of Nursing.
My goal is to educate as many people as possible about food: what foods are nutritious and what foods are not, things about the food marketplace in the US that you should be aware of, why certain foods are “good for you” or “bad for you”, and how much truth is there in the latest diet trends. These are things that most people don’t learn in school, or at home, but are as important to know as how to balance your checkbook.
